Qué puede llevarnos a creer que podemos en este momento siquiera llegar a emular de verdad la inteligencia humana? Nos empecinamos en crear una tecnología de la que no conocemos ni un 10%, solo sabemos que nuestra mente trabaja en cierta medida con base en recuerdos, aprendemos algo, luego comparamos y decidimos. Aprendemos, comparamos, decidimos. Que hacen las supuestas inteligencias artificiales actualmente? aprenden, comparan y dan un resultado, que lo hacen más rápido, sí por supuesto, tienen todo su esfuerzo y recursos electrónicos encaminados a hacer una simple tarea, pero lo que hace una inteligencia humana con propósito y en automático, es algo que no se puede emular, ni hoy ni en 100 años adelante. Tenemos sistemas expertos que aumentan la velocidad de respuesta a problemas específicos. Pero no tenemos una tecnología capaz de acercarse a lo que significa la mente humana.
Ni cableando por completo el cerebro humano vamos a entender por qué sucede un pensamiento, un recuerdo, una decisión. No hemos podido curar a los enfermos mentales, vamos a poder entender como funciona de verdad ese maravilloso órgano que solo una verdadera mente superior pudo crear.
Hay teorías de como funciona el cerebro, pero son solo eso, hay muchos estudios sí, por supuesto que han esclarecido mucho las dudas sobre como suceden las cosas allí, pero no tenemos idea de nada. Si lo supiéramos, ya no existirían la inmensa cantidad de enfermedades mentales que nos circundan y que se siguen descubriendo cada año.
Pensemos en esto: El actual conocimiento humano no alcanza para organizar una sociedad digna, evolucionada, sostenible, natural…. no tenemos armonía con la naturaleza. Hasta que no logremos eso dudo mucho que podamos de verdad conseguir reales avances que nos permitan entender como funciona el cerebro y como crear una Inteligencia Artificial.

Not even by wiring the human brain completely are we going to understand why a thought, a memory, a decision happens. We have not been able to cure the mentally ill, nor will we be able to understand how that wonderful organ that only a truly superior mind could create really works.
There are theories of how the brain works, but they are just that. There are many studies, yes, of course they have clarified a lot the doubts about how things happen there, but we have no idea of anything. If we knew it, the immense amount of mental illnesses that surround us and that continue to be discovered every year would no longer exist.
Think on this, the current human knowledge is not enough to organize a dignified, evolved, sustainable, natural society … we do not have harmony with nature. Until we achieve that, I doubt very much that we can really achieve huge advances that allow us to understand how the brain works and how to create Artificial Intelligence.
